Athletics Day

When I was eight years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.
First, we went to high jump. The high jump pad was blue and the poles that held the black and orange pole up was grey. It was easy at first but it got harder and harder until I made the bar jump off the poles that were holding it up. The high jump was as high as a hawk flying and as hard as a rock.
Next, we went to long jump. At the long jump, there was a mat to jump over. My first jump was 2.02 metres, my next attempt was 2.05 metres and my last attempt was 2.5 metres. The long jump was as sandy as the beach.
Finally, we went to shot put. The shot put was as heavy as a bag of rocks. The shot put was round and heavy.

It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from school that afternoon.

Animal Jam

On Pet Day, some of the school brought their pets to show off at school. The pets were a rabbit, fish, birds, a mouse, possum, chickens and dogs. The possum was fluffy, brown and black and it had a little black cage with a towel over it so it would be dark.
The dogs were fiesty around each other and some dogs were calm and some were scared. Some dogs were big, some were small, some were shaggy and some were smooth haired.
At lunch everyone was walking around with their dogs, having races and running together.

King Arthur's Castle

Mrs Death read us the story of King Arthur, then we used three different pieces of paper and combined them to show what his castle looked like.

Dino Protectors

Once upon a time, five million years ago in the dino times, was a fort of dino's protected by humans guarding  the plant eaters from the meat eaters so they wouldn’t die. The people would protect and keep the dino's safe but they kept on escaping, and it was too hard to get them back in their habitat.
The humans thought of ideas to keep the dino in their habitats. Like getting more men from the future, that didn’t work. They tried paintball guns to shoot them back to their  habitat, but nothing seemed to work. They tried everything but they just couldn’t do it.
It was a big problem and they nearly gave up, before someone thought of a solution to let the dino's out into the meat eater’s territory, so they know what it’s like to be eaten alive, so the dinos would stay in their habitat, and it worked. The dinos stayed in their habitats and the dino's never escaped again.

Bats and Dinos

One day, in the dino times, there was a group of bats that was nearly extinct because of the dinos.   Mr Bat was nearly retired so he could not keep the little bats safe from death because the dinos were eating them and ripping them to shreds to stay alive but the bats didn’t like it.

The bats tried everything but one option. Mr Bat always had great ideas. He thought of a great idea that all the bats loved. The  idea was to get ten groups of one hundred bats to get one dino at a time to kill. Each group of one hundred joined together to make one big bat. They used ten of the big group to push the dinosaur down, then the other ninety would keep it down long enough for the other bats to kill it.
His idea killed all the dinos and the bats shouted hooray and lived happily ever after.

New Zealand's Olympic Legends

Olympic Games - Rowing

In the 2012 Olympic Games, Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan went into the 2012 Olympics for rowing, and fighting for a gold medal for New Zealand.
First, all the canoes lined up to start the race.
Once they started, everyone was zooming along the water, fighting for a medal.
Finally, New Zealand was in the front. It was so close to the finish, and guess who won! Us! new Zealanders! Yes! A gold medal! We were the winners for the rowing. It was amazing!
I wonder who will win the next one. I hope us.
I thought the race was great.

Hello. My name is Flynn. My favourite sport is archery, but I play soccer and I have scored eight goals this year. My best score was when I was down the other end and I kicked it through the people, then i ran to the end and scored. I felt very proud to have scored that goal.
